Nolan's Story

Meet a young, gifted musical artist who spread joy, love, and acceptance to communities all around the country through his kind spirit, vibrant voice, and masterful compositions.

Nolan was 15 years old, and already a very accomplished musician, songwriter,  performer, actor, vocal percussionist, and music producer.  He performed on stages across New England, recorded music in New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles, was on national television, and in several popular music videos.

He began singing publically at age 9 with Showstoppers Performing Arts, Inc., a local community service and music troupe.  The highlight event was the annual New Bedford Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert.

In 2017, at the age of 12, Nolan won New England’s Got Talent by performing an a cappella version of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” which he arranged and produced himself. His prize money was used to build his home recording studio.

In 2018, Nolan was cast as the main vocal percussionist of Acapop! KIDS, a national all-kids a cappella group formed by the founders and members of the Grammy® Award-winning group, Pentatonix. Through Acapop! KIDS, Nolan traveled frequently to New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles to record and film music videos, which have amassed over 60 million views on YouTube. The highlight of his Acapop experience was an appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show in January 2020.

In 2019, Nolan attended the prestigious A Cappella Academy in Los Angeles, an intensive 10-day program where young vocalists ages 12 to 18 from all around the world come together to learn, connect, and study music in an immersive and fun environment. This audition-only intensive camp selects only 75 young people out of thousands of applicants from around the world. Nolan said it was "the best 10 days of my life!"

In 2022, Acapop! KIDS honored Nolan by performing one of his original songs on America’s Got Talent.

Nolan was working on an album of original songs he had been writing, recording, and producing himself. In keeping with Nolan’s plans, his parents have released several original songs and a cappella covers across all streaming platforms. More original music will be released soon.

Nolan lived his motto, “Everybody Likes to be Themselves,” every day of his life by recognizing and celebrating the unique gifts in every person he met. The Nolan Gibbons Memorial Fund aims to encourage and support others to do the same.
